§ 10-79. Definitions; exclusions

  • (a) Definitions. The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    General store means and includes any store or stores or any motor vehicle service station or stations or any mercantile establishment or establishments, in which goods, wares, gasoline or merchandise of any kind are purchased, ordered, sold or offered for sale either at retail or wholesale.

    Special store means and includes any store or stores or any mercantile establishment, in which goods, wares, or merchandise of any kind except cigarettes, tobacco products and soft drinks are purchased, ordered, sold or offered for sale, either at retail or wholesale, and which contains no coin-operated device, or devices, owned and operated by the store proprietor.

    (b) Exclusions. For the purpose of this article, no coin-operated device shall be construed to be a store.
