§ 22-3. Chief of police

  • The chief of police, subject to the statutory authority of the mayor, shall be head of the police department and commanding officer of the police force of the town. The chief of police shall be responsible for the administration, training, discipline and morals of the personnel of the police department and for their effective employment to prevent crime, apprehend law violators, maintain law and order and enforce state law, this Code and other ordinances within the town.
