§ 12-5. Town civil defense council—Established; membership; chairperson; compensation

(a) The town civil defense council is hereby established, which shall consist of the mayor and four citizens of the town appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the town council; provided, that not more than three of the five members at any time shall belong to the same political party. All such appointments shall be made for a term of two years; provided, that vacancies occurring at any time shall be filled for the unexpired term only.

(b) The mayor shall be chairperson of the town civil defense council.

(c) Members of the town civil defense council shall serve without compensation, but shall be reimbursed for the reasonable and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their duties.
